the cat movie
Dec. 17th, 2020 10:25 pmunfucking the apartment continues apace, and a highlight this week was that my favorite Hallmark movie was on while i was sorting through clothes.
in The Nine Lives of Christmas, Brandon Routh is a fireman/house flipper who rescues a marmalade cat and meets cute with a veterinary student/pet store employee. their cats fall in love, and then they do too. at Christmas, like you do.
i particularly like the other firemen and that the marmalade cat is named Ambrose. also there is no named adorable moppet and no one is giving up their hard-won career to move back to their hometown and hook up with their high school sweetheart. (had a realization in conversation tonight: while i'm horrified by that common storyline, it's a fantasy written for parents about their child coming home, staying close, and being happy about it.)
when i looked it up on IMDB, i discovered that it's based on a book. the book appears to be from the cat's POV. part of me wants to see if the library has it, but the rest of me rebelled after reading the excerpt.
