I wanted this to be better than it was; for fans only, I think. not much meat on the bones for someone who doesn't already know all about him. that said, really interesting guy, bit of a nerd with a room devoted to his toy and comics collections, where his gold records are in a haphazard pile.

Cuban Food

a culinary road trip through Cuba, highlighting old and new food traditions and the people creating them. lovely cinematography, with narration by the director - a Cuban expat returning home to explore the country that changed profoundly during his lifetime. if you dig Chef's Table, you'll probably dig this.

Zombillenium

Five hot demon dads out of five.

uptight safety inspector finds a new afterlife at a zombie-themed amusement park (very much modeled on Disneyland) and gets involved in a power struggle of diverse monsters vs sparkly vampires. animated, in French with subtitles. this will never see a wide US release due to the themes and honestly it's probably too scary for a lot of kids. highly recommended for goths and the goth-adjacent.
