Cartoonists: Footsoldiers of Democracy
May. 29th, 2015 09:11 amFrench doc about political cartoonists from around the world. It started out a bit dull and disjointed, but became more interesting and coherent as themes started to emerge. I especially enjoyed the bits with Willis from Tunis (a woman, "Willis" is the name of her cat character, rhymes with Tunis) and a Russian artist who started under the Soviets. Other great stuff included the significance of cartoons in a country with low literacy. Glad to have seen it.
