perhaps evolution is the process of becoming tastier.

lovely Korean film about a man whose failed suicide attempt leads to a Robinson Crusoe existence on a river island in a large city. eventually an agoraphobic woman sees him through her telephoto lens, and a kind of romance begins. what could be way way too twee isn't. i loved this one, especially both parties' clever improvisational methods of engaging with the world. i can assure tenderhearts like C that there is a happy ending, but i was never sure that it would come. recommended (sorry i didn't get this up before the Sunday showing had passed) and looking forward to seeing it again on DVD.
