yay and stuff.
Jul. 22nd, 2006 04:54 pmwe went to
livingdeadpan and
miss_swamp's wedding and it was excellent.
the ceremony was held outdoors at Wilderness Lodge, in the morning before it was too insanely hot or there were too many people trying to fish in the lake. the setting is stunning; i tried to capture a picture of the lake and Mt Rainier, but i don't have the skills to get the white mountain to pop out against a hazy sky.
the crowd was packed with friends and the vibe was mellow and DIY and totally beautiful.
weahawk officiated, i cried, there was a great deal of laughter and a dried rose petal fight.
before the ceremony we had breakfast and coffee, and a minor panic about flowers.
crooked_hill had brought a truckload of bouquets for the tables from Pike Place Market, but no one had mentioned to him that there would be a wire arch that needed decorating. fortunately, King County considers morning glory to be a noxious weed...so we did the Lodge a favor and cut down the ones that were choking their landscaping. problem solved.
it was so great to be at a wedding with no official responsibilities, no angst, and no church. it was a lovely day, a great party, and i'm very happy for them.
