it's monday, after a weekend.
Jul. 26th, 2004 10:52 pmFriday i had a marathon night of shopping and quilting with Tara, who, i found out around 10pm, had been awake since 4am. two fabric stores got me the last of my materials, plus a few yards of a batik to become a new sarong, and a set of double wedding-ring templates. i'm obsessed with the pattern, since i have one made by my great-grandmother, but i certainly don't have the skills for it yet. i mostly got it to loan to T, who is on a strict budget these days and will have the ability to carry it off long before i do. we shut down at 1am, when our brains were completely fried, and our husbands carried us off to our respective beds. last night i put the final borders on the top, and stole C's mapping graph paper to draw out the patterns i'll be quilting. because still feel more confident doing hand work, anyone who sees me in a meeting, or somewhere with television, or Shakespeare in the Park, is probably going to see the quilt in progress. by this Friday i hope to have drawn out my pattern, and then i need to lay off and get back to some karaoke and schedule up Sweeney Todd.
Saturday brought new glasses, and a fondue party with the Bangs. the sangria flowed, the ceviche had the right amount of cilantro, and i ate way too many red potatoes and bits of fresh pineapple. i had a great time, and met a lot of nice people, but made the unfortunate discovery that this was one of those crowds where the men go to one side and the women to another. i was a bit frustrated with the surprise at my interest in D&D, but amused that the reasons i like to play were the reasons that Bang stopped playing. anyway, we did get some hot tips on camping locally, and i realized that i haven't slept outside for two years. that has to change.
we had breakfast Sunday at Hattie's Hat, and spent the rest of the morning wandering through
C just took my bra. it wasn't really that important. bye.
