Dec. 23rd, 2003 08:18 pmconvenience food disturbs me. buy these heat and eat items; gain time, sacrifice thrift, nutrition, and flavor. i like to cook, and between diet, C's genetics, and growing up working poor i am willing to give up an hour to an affordable and nutritious dinner. i am especially disturbed by "easy mac" and the individually wrapped microwave-ready hot dog.
that said, i made heat-n-eat prepackaged beef roast and microwave-in-bag broccoli for dinner. i did velveeta sauce in the microwave while the meat was resting and from fridge to plate it all took less than 10 minutes. my mouth hurts still from all the salt, but my, was it tasty.
after dinner, we read about mad cow disease in Washington.
