the midnight movie at the Egyptian this weekend is Spirited Away. C and i are going either Friday or Saturday, but we haven't decided which night. i'd love to round up enough people to do the 5 tix for thirty bucks deal, so if you're interested, let me know a day preference (either by comment or my shiny new lj email)

i went to a movie preview tonight. they were making an unusually big deal about giving everyone passes and checking us into the theater. i witnessed actual racial profiling in action. we're all filing in, and the woman at the door literally grabs the black gentleman in line in front of me by the arm and asks him for his pass. he still has his headphones on and asks her "what pass?" at this point i say something about him being in line in front of me and that it's the dvd thing they gave us. he produces it, and they let him go. no one asked to see mine or the (white) people in front of him.

fuckers. i assume these people were with the film company, since he was enough of a regular that Warren greeted him by name. the poor guy darted into the theater and disappeared, and i felt terrible that i didn't even have the chance to give those bitches at the door so much as a dirty look.

didn't suck. i'd never pay money to see it, but when it comes on TNT or Lifetime, it's worth a sunday afternoon.

if you're a girl.

but i am, so it was sweet and entirely predictable. gotta love that Helen Mirren's breasts still look great 20 years after Excalibur. i had a nice time, and i got to see the blue twinkle lights on the tree by EMP. oh, and a tiny promo DVD for the Matrix Reloaded.
