i was first in line for Urban Craft Uprising with
scarlettina. our bags of swag had different contents, but appropriately enough, she got mostly jewelry and i got knitting needles and notecards. the place was absolutely mobbed. we ran into
shadowdaddy and
greyjoy, but didn't get to talk long. i came home with a craft kit, a hand-printed shirt with a familiar view of the Space Needle, and some dragon's blood soap with gold leaf in it. i came out with a lot of ideas, some admiration, and a teeny bit of why-would-i-pay-so-much-money-for-something-so-poorly-made. i thought a moment about the bat scarf and the sweet stuffed conjoined twin animals, but i resisted. the leather chokers were more difficult. i thought over and over again that there were things that should belong to
weezlgrrrl.
please don't put your pet into little collars with shirt collars - you're embarrassing all of us.
the rest of the afternoon's rambling included a stop at Turtle Press, where i was very easily talked into a "Greetings from Ballard" stamp and a pad of ink. i think all requested letters are in the mail. ping me on the original entry if you didn't get yours by Monday (or you've decided you'd like one too).
