Mourning Becomes Electra

rocked. but in an opera way.

i got to wear the dress-that-you-can't-wear-underwear-with, and the opera cape. probably the last time for a while, since soon velvety goodness won't be warm enough for the walk home. C cleans up pretty. i wish he did it more often. or always smelled like sweat and woodsmoke, whichever.

our subscription seats (forward and centered in tier 2) are pretty great, although i was incensed that i had to trek down to the orchestra level to find the one honor bar with tea.

the music was lovely. the set was great. the staging was simple and clear, but acting, not just moving into the singing position. i could even understand most of the words and got caught up in the plot. i highly recommend it.

i won't pay a donation, a subscription before i know the season, and $750 per person to see The Ring. maybe the next cycle. C is really pushing for it, but that's enough money for a vacation, and i'd like to get the hell out of dodge every now and again. (shhhhhh i don't really dig Wagner that much)
