Back Tuva Future
Sep. 19th, 2005 12:52 pmi've been listening to Kongar-ol Ondar the past few days. he practices throat singing, and i'm fascinated by the combination of guttural chant with high whistling harmonics. this guy has an album called Back Tuva Future that features collaborations, some successful and some not so. this

Date: 2005-09-20 03:21 am (UTC)i'm sorry to say that i can't remember his name, although it may have been Theo Bleckmann, but he and another man sung without words, accompanied by a steady beat on a rolled carpet. the sound of the overtones was akin to an armonica. i can't say what the tune was, only that the sound was incredibly beautiful and that i made my bones vibrate in a way that i've never felt since.

who's it by? anyone with the last name "Dagar" is at least roughly part of the tradition i'm learning.
