Is it #1 or #13 you think I have special knowledge of? The former has finally been released to disappointing reviews, while the latter didn't get much distribution when it went around last year.

I can definitely name 17 of these, and I think I've seen 18. Of #16 and #20 I'm uncertain (less so of the latter, which I'm pretty sure is one I've seen), and of #8 I can make a wild guess, although I am sure I haven't seen it or #16.

I have noted my choices on a sticky but won't post them until others have had a chance to test their memories.

Not as many as I'd like, but: Three is the Blues Brothers, Five is clearly Some retelling of Cyrano, Six is very familiar, and makes me think Aliens (but I could be wrong), Seven is Amadeus, Eleven is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Seventeen irritates me since I know which handful of movies it's from, but not which one exactly, and Eighteen is from Tampopo and Now I want noodles. Mmm... noodles.

i bet you haven't seen eight; it's one of those wonderful overlooked films like Excalibur. it's actually in color, if that helps. i'm not sure how you'd like #16, except that you'd be tired of hearing "Hot Paprika." lindylousmith might dig it though.
