i do feel like a girl sometimes; i embrace my childlike moments. i reject my stupid teenaged moments though.
i like grrl okay, but i generally dislike making a statement with spelling (like "womyn"). i hate aolspeak; this "gurl" came from someone hitting on me on an online game board. i understand that my username marks me as female, but i fail to understand why being female makes me a mark :/
I really wish there was a good word that you could use to indicate a woman that was casual but respectful and didn't have all that extra baggage (the 'guy' equivalent); I'd be all for reviving 'gal' if not for the fact that my elementary school gym teacher used it.
I dig "chick". But I might be alone in that. I like "girl" for me, but that's just because I generally feel like a little kid pretending to be a grown-up. It seems a lot more casual than "Woman", too. "Lady" is horrible and should be avoided at all costs.
