I put the new "wheel" together today and lost the late afternoon and evening to spinning fiber samples and binging most of series 4 of The Great Pottery Throwdown. This may be the most evenly-matched group ever and they're so lovely to each other (they filmed in a bubble like GBBO). I would be happy to see any of them win. It's new to the US, no spoilers please, UK fam. Especially enjoying that Rich is judging now and the new Rich appears to be a trans person.

Did you get one of those Electric Eels as well? Suddenly it seems like everyone I know just got one. Was it a kickstarter or something?

It was! I am loving it so far. It’s not as pretty as the Hansen, but for $200 including 6 bobbins and spare parts (one of which is a bearing) I can’t complain.

That’s great value! I’m glad you’re loving it. My Hansen is currently dead (getting it repaired is complicated by being across the ocean and shipping/VAT costs), but I definitely like having both the treadle and (theoretically) espinner in my life.
