i don't remember actually watching much of any prior inauguration. i was excited about Obama, but i was happy to see the best of clips later. today i needed to see it in real time and make sure it happened, that nothing could stop it.

i have the concert on (also a thing i've never cared about before) and it is FUCKING AWESOME. the song choices are SALTY, performed by actual good musicians. (i lost it over the musical theatre peeps singing Seasons of Love.) i hope there will be a recording available of these performances or at least a playlist of the setlist.

I'm the same, I've never watched an inauguration before. Today it was an event for the whole household, with thematic food and everything.

I've watched previous inauguration ceremonies in their entirety but never have stuck with all of the day's events.

This time I cried a couple of times and kept the livestream going for every bit of it. The parade across America had some wonderful moment and the concert was so good. Now I'm headed to bed with a far lighter heart.

I can't say I remember anything much about any prior inauguration, other than how excited the first Obama swearing in crowd was. I didn't watch much of it, but saw some nice images shared.
