fulfillment
May. 14th, 2005 12:11 amtoday ends the first week of the new job. still not running away, but the real work begins Monday. i'm enjoying what i've done so far, and the people are great, as is the location and the organic coffee.
i caught up the two memes that have been pending. i wrote back to people i owe letters. (if you too would like to communicate in an archaic fashion, email me your physical address.) i'm starting to feel more motivated in general. C was right...the old job was definitely a factor in my dark winter.
i picked up pottery (
scarlettina's plate was in a place of prominence).
varina8, let me know how/when we can hook up.
i had a great dinner with C at the Hi Life tonight. it's now my favorite Chow Foods place. their rotating menu is of large dishes meant to be consumed family-style. the theme is Paris right now, and next week starts Barcelona. if you can get there this weekend, the pork loin with the cherry sauce over watercress is divine. plus Riff-Raff from the Vicarious Theater Company was our waiter. he's very good...he chose an excellent dessert for me and a perfect cocktail accompaniment. (as C noted, when i was dithering, he steered me to the delicious and cheaper one.) they also had info about this which i wish i'd known about sooner.
oh yeah, and i'll be modeling for
evego, so i've spent some time being fitted and marveling at her talented instructor and the cool design. the dress is made of paper. it's very funny to see a dummy padded out to represent 14/16 me surrounded by the standard size 8s. i wish i had a picture.
my brain is full, but mostly in a good way.
