pain lies on the riverside

a couple bands i loved when i was in college are playing in the area this summer.

i saw them then. those concerts are shiny memories. i don't care much for where their music has gone since.

so why do i want to buy tickets now?

I'm guessing from your subject line, one of those is Live?

I like their "old" stuff as well.

I'm still too much in denial to consider anything from my teenage years (or barely teenage--gah) as old.

I had Throwing Copper on cassette and picked up their "best of" CD a couple of years ago.

Most of my old favorites broke up, and their people went in different directions. David Byrne solo is pretty good, for example, but his stuff just isn't as much fun as Talking Heads.

If you ever want to listen to some of the others I got them all! There are a few rough albums in there but for the most part I still really enjoy the majority of their music and the way the albums flow with a theme.

i really liked the Weird Al "White Stuff" song. i want to say that was based on one of their songs?
you'd know better than i would.
