I watched Netflix' Knight Before Christmas last night. The heroine's family has an ornament from their parents' (grandparents'? I wasn't paying enough attention) trip to Christmas Prince's Latveria, but it is clear that they are Latverian emigres. If not the parents' generation, then grand or great-grand parents. Probably they came over after one of the World Wars: long enough for nostalgia, but also long enough to have almost completely assimilated.
