The link didn't work because there's a space between the open paren and the start of the link as well as before the close paren.

Also you can now set the DW editor to default to markdown with the menu between the subject line and the entry box. Email posts default to markdown.

Thanks for the tips! This is an automation that turns a pinboard tag into an email post. It sounds like maybe I can ditch the markdown declaration. I wonder why the spaces came in...
